Part 141 And Part 61 Private Pilot Ground Training Course Details
The first class of all aviation certificates, the private pilot ground class introduces you to airspace, aircraft operations, weather, the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and other important information.
Our classes are 6 weeks long, two days per week, 3 hours each class day for a total of 36 hours for the course satisfying the part 141 requirement of 35 hours of ground instruction.
The private pilot course has three-stage exams and a final exam A and B. At the conclusion of the course, students will receive an endorsement by the chief instructor to take the FAA written exam.
This course is designed to take you from no pilot knowledge to the Private Pilot FAA written exam within 3 months.
Pricing covers all your books, materials, and ground training time. The written exam is an additional cost and is not paid to SunEx. Students must schedule to take the written exam at a local facility.

Instrument Ground School
SunEx is also pending a FAA part 141 certificate to teach online courses for instrument ground school. Like the private pilot online course, the instrument will include stage checks and an end-of-course exam. The passing score is 70 or above. The course will be taught live and online with the instructor having office hours during the week. Since the course will be part 141, the credits will transfer to any part 141 school in the United States. Students that are Part 61 may still take the course as this course will prepare you for the written exam. At the end of the course and with a passing score on the final exam, part 141 students will receive a completion certificate. For both part 141 and part 61 students will have 24 months to complete the instrument practical exam.
SunEx is not offering the flight portion of the instrument part 141 as of yet. This will change, however, once approved by the FAA. All instrument flight at this moment is part 61.
Drone Training
Drones are becoming more and more popular as the technology used to build them gets smaller and more durable. The cost of owning a drone becomes easier to handle every year. Many private businesses have found various uses for drones.
A simple search on any job board site for “Drone Pilot” results in several opportunities. However, as most pilots are well aware, there is a danger to flying drones. The solution to this problem is education, training, and certification.
SunEx Aviation offers a 2-day drone training seminar taught by our CFIs for 4 hours each day. The seminar gives you all the information needed to pass the FAA knowledge exam and become a Certified Remote Pilot.
Included with the seminar are all training materials, instruction, practice exams, FAA Written Exam, and UAS Drone Pilot License registration.
SunEx Aviation offers drone seminars for $795. The seminars will be held at the José Aponte De La Torre airport in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, or at the Albuquerque Sunport in Albuquerque, New México. We will also offer live online seminars for drone training. If you are interested in taking our remote pilot training call us at 939.293.8614 or online registration by clicking the “Flight Courses” tab and then clicking “Training.”.

Our program is a 7-day course to include the check ride. Local lodging is an additional cost for the week.
